40 YEARS OF HISTORY

1981

Creation of Precilens

Precilens was founded by Francis VINZIA, at Monttessuy Street, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. In this district were crafted the C2 lenses, the first progressive contact lenses in the world. Thanks to this innovation, our notoriety and activities have developed. Then, our manufacturing moved to Créteil (close to Paris) to accompany our growth untill this day.

2004

A new dimension

After the acquisition of Bourgeois Contactology by Precilens, the two entities merged and were bought by Pierre PITANCE. The name Precilens has retained. A new history begins for our laboratory with the transition from micromechanics to nanotechnology, as well as an international development.

2021

New ambitions

Recognized for our innovations and referent in orthokeratology lenses, we combine a unique know-how with a corporate culture that emphasizes proximity and human relationships. At the time of our 40th anniversary, we assert our values and the ambition to develop our reputation towards the final consumers.

40 YEARS OF EXPERTISE

As an expert in tailor-made lenses designs, we invested primarly in nanotechnology and fully computerized high-tech production equipment. This has enabled new technological advances and the design of ever more innovative geometries combining visual performance and simplicity, in close collaboration with eyecare professionals, research centers and universities.

40 YEARS OF PARTNERSHIP
WITH EYECARE PROFESSIONALS

Personalized support, proximity and exchanges with practitioners are the heart of our philosophy because, as innovative as they may be, our lenses are nothing without those who adapt them to daily life. This desire is achieved through the development of adaptation support tools and the implementation of training courses adapted to different needs: webinars, e-learning, practical sessions in our site at Créteil, but also in the regions to be as close as possible to prescribers.
